We’ve been doing Vinyl Siding for over 20 years now. It was what we first got our start in doing. It is a reasonably priced alternative to stucco and hardy board. And a drastic improvement over painted wood. It doesn’t dent, scratch or corrode. Is easy to clean and maintain. Vinyl comes in a variety of colors, brands, profiles and types. With an average lifespan of 20-25 years backed by a limited lifetime warranty provided by manufacturer against uneven fading, blistering, bubbling, popping loose, rippling etc.
Vinyl Siding
We start by cutting out any existing rotten wood and replacing with plywood. Taping over seams. Then installing a Tyvek vapor barrier to protect wood against humidity and moisture. Then the Vinyl Siding goes over the vapor barrier with a nail ever 12-16″ on center. If your existing sheathing is that particle board/cardboard material; we often can still go right over that. It just requires us to put all our nails into the studs. We can also rip it all off and replace if you prefer.
Wood Replacement
Around windows we prefer to use a 2 1/2″ wide, Super J-Channel as a window trim. It only comes in White though. As an alternative we can install 2×4’s around the windows and cap them in aluminum. This isn’t as seamless of a look though
We can also install vinyl siding on your block home. This requires 1×2 wood fir strip to be glued and screwed to the block every 12″ on center to provide a nailing surface. Often times homeowners go with insulated siding to provide a firm backing behind the Vinyl Siding.

There is also a Cedar Shake imitation, Vertical Board N’ Batten and Fishscales, Vinyl Siding available etc. Please, don’t hesitate to ask about different options, colors or you can browse the links below. We primarily use 2 manufacturers. Kaycan and Ply-Gem for our Vinyl Siding. Both offer a solid product, warranty and many colors/styles to choose from. Kaycan is our preferred company as it’s always easier to deal directly with the manufacturer and not just a distributor. Here are some examples:
